Job Description

Summary:

To ensure production, lab, break room and office areas are kept clean per the Janitorial Checklist.

Essential Duties:

Sweep /mop production, lab, foyer, breakroom and other areas
Scrub production floor with floor scrubber, strip, wax and buff other floors (tile floors included)
Vacuum, and dust offices
Empty all trash cans and take trash to dumpster
Clean all restrooms and locker rooms
Clean the break room
Communicate with Lead Janitor as to needed supplies
Move materials as needed with forklift

Additional Responsibilities:

Clean out refrigerators in break rooms
Clean time clock regularly
Other miscellaneous duties as required and noted on janitor’s checklist
Work extended hours/weekends when assigned

Qualifications:

Previous janitorial duties preferred in a manufacturing environment

Knowledge of floor scrubbing, stripping/waxing floors, & power equipment preferred.
Previous fork lift experience desired

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required stand and walk. Occasional climbing up and down platforms, and other physical activity to include: bending, squatting, twisting, and upward/downward reaching. The employee frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls and talk or hear. Frequently lift or carry 10 to 25 pounds, occasionally 25 to 70 pounds.

Work Environment:

The position is working near heavy machinery and trucks in manufacturing environment. Frequent exposure to loud noises (+ or - 85 decibels), PPE/Ear Plugs provided. Frequent use of cleaning agents, chemicals, and occasional exposure to fumes, Gloves/Safety Glasses provided. Occasional exposure to fumes (masks and respirators provided). The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
