Job Description

Summary:

The Regulatory Associate supports and assists the Regulatory Department at Badger Color Concentrates by carrying out activities pertaining to all aspects of regulatory compliance including some environmental regulatory requirements. This position requires collaboration and coordination with customers, sales, manufacturing, and regulatory agencies, as well as independent work. This job requires knowledge of, and the ability to, interpret United States federal, state, and international compliance laws and regulations. Experience with colorants, masterbatches, food contact regulations, and authoring SDSs is beneficial. Exposure to regulations related to medical devices, the automotive industry and state environmental reporting is also an advantage.

Essential Duties:

  • Develop an understanding of Badger Color’s products and their compositions as required for regulatory activities and compliance.
  • Author regulatory documents and safety data sheets (SDSs).
  • Determine proper statements and maintain databases supporting the information found in the regulatory documents and SDSs.
  • Respond to a variety of customer regulatory compliance requests and develop procedures to ensure responses are accurate and timely.
  • Organize and maintain in-house regulatory databases.
  • Request, verify, and challenge supplier compliance claims.
  • Research and be knowledgeable of industry and regulatory developments and changes to stay apprised of regulatory, legislative, or technical developments that potentially impact regulatory compliance.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Technical Director.

Qualifications:

Relevant experience (1 – 2 years) and/or BS Degree in Sciences (such as Chemistry or Environmental Science) or Regulatory field.

Relevant experience in chemicals, colorants, food contact articles, plastics, or color concentrates.

Experience or knowledge in any of the following is highly desired:

Regulatory compliance and product safety, including but not limited to SDS, Food contact packaging compliance (FDA & EU in particular), REACH, SVHC, RoHS, PROP 65, etc.

Ability to analyze and interpret technical procedures, industry standards and government regulations.

Attention to detail, high level of accuracy, good organizational skills and the ability to multi-task. Highly motivated, self-starter, eventually able to work independently with little supervision.

Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required to effectively communicate ideas and properly describe problems/solutions to employees, customers, suppliers, vendors, and with the proper Regulatory Agency contacts.
